British Land has entered into The Secretary of State for Levelling-Up, Housing and Communities’ (“DLUHC”) developer self-remediation contract (the “Contract”). The Contract, which has been signed by a number of other major developers, confirms that residential leaseholders will not be required to pay for costs associated with the remediation of certain fire-safety related defects arising from the design, construction or refurbishment of buildings of 11 metres and above that they live in. Through the Contract we have taken on the responsibility of performing or funding any relevant remediation works and will keep DLUHC updated as to our progress.
